Strategy
  • Dead Eye (McCree’s ultimate) has a channel time before it’s active. You normally have a chance to react before he’s capable of killing you immediately with it! (Also known as “High Noon” — his announcement to the enemy team when he uses it!)
  • Dead Eye isn’t capable of shooting through shields or the environment to hit heroes that are properly concealed behind them.
  • Flashbang is capable of stunning a Genji using reflect, but only if you aim for his feet and away from his head and torso. Otherwise, you’ll have it reflected right back at you!
  • Dead Eye can still deal damage to targets if it’s “used” before it’s fully channeled or before the red skulls appear, but it will not be enough for lethal damage. It can still help weaken the enemy team for your allies if needed.
  • McCree is capable of using his Fan the Hammer attack twice in quick succession if he uses his Quick Draw ability. In close quarters, it’s possible to score easy kills on opponents with this technique!
  • McCree has a slower reload time after using his Fan the Hammer ability, so it’s important that you attempt to use your primary fire attack when possible as well. Keep in mind every primary fire attack you use will remove one bullet from his Fan the Hammer when the need arises to use it.
  • Dead Eye’s charge time is based around how much HP enemy heroes currently have, so high HP heroes will be harder to kill with this ultimate ability. Lucio’s ultimate can make it nearly impossible at times to use Dead Eye, so use it carefully!
  • McCree can throw his Flashbang over Reinhardt’s shield in close range and still manage to stun him if it’s timed properly. It can be difficult to pull off, so don’t be frustrated if you can’t master it at first.
  • Avoid using your Flashbang on targets that are currently immune to it’s effect. Effects that are immune to Flashbang include Genji’s Deflect, D.VA’s absorption shield, Zarya’s Shield (or on her allies), target’s behind Reinhardt’s or Winston’s Shield, Reaper’s Wraith Form, and Mei’s Ice Block.

Justice ain’t gonna dispense itself.
  • Armed with his Peacekeeper revolver, the outlaw Jesse McCree doles out justice on his own terms.
  • McCree had already made a name for himself as a member of the notorious Deadlock Gang, which trafficked in illicit weapons and military hardware throughout the American Southwest, when he and his associates were busted in an Overwatch sting operation. With his expert marksmanship and resourcefulness, he was given the choice between rotting in a maximum-security lockup and joining Blackwatch, Overwatch’s covert ops division. He chose the latter.
  • Although he was initially cynical, he came to believe that he could make amends for his past sins by righting the injustices of the world. McCree appreciated the flexibility afforded to the clandestine Blackwatch, unhindered by bureaucracy and red tape. But as Overwatch’s influence waned, rogue elements within Blackwatch sought to bring down the organization and turn it to their own ends. Wanting no part of the infighting, McCree set off alone and went underground.
  • He resurfaced several years later as a gunslinger for hire. But while McCree’s talents are sought after by parties great and small, he fights only for causes he believes are just.
